Welcome to Ibby Brown

I’ve always loved words, I’ve always been a writer and I’ve always loved teaching. I spent three years at Lancaster University studying English Literature and Creative Writing and loved it! That’s where I fully realised what a responsibility choosing words is. Words have the power to hurt and wound, but also to soothe, to comfort and to spread joy.

And it was this love of words, that lead me into the whirlwind of education, teaching English Language and English Literature at various secondary schools across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. I also spent a number of years working at an Alternative Provision and working one-to-one with students with additional needs. I am extremely creative and have been commissioned to produce resource packages for students who are unable to thrive in mainstream education.

Life changed significantly with the arrival of my two daughters. Amidst the chaos of parenthood, I was plunged headfirst into the bizarre, fantastical and often hilarious world of children’s picture books. Inspired by the playful language and limitless possibilities, I challenged myself to write.

There really are no bounds to the imagination and I am so excited to be able to share these fabulous stories with you.
